Chicago Cubs defeat Atlanta Braves 7-3 behind Pete Crow-Armstrong

Pete Crow-Armstrong recorded four hits and four RBIs, including a two-run home run, to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 7-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Monday night at Wrigley Field.

Crow-Armstrong’s sixth-inning home run was his 42nd of the season, tying the Cubs' franchise record for home runs by a left-handed batter, a mark previously held by Billy Williams since 1970. The performance also pushed Crow-Armstrong past the 100-RBI milestone for the first time in three full seasons.

For the Cubs, David Peterson earned the win, allowing one run on three hits over more than six innings. Nico Hoerner contributed two hits and an RBI. The victory moves Chicago a half-game ahead of Philadelphia for the top NL Wild Card spot.

Atlanta’s Mike Yastrzemski provided a two-run pinch-hit home run in the seventh inning, but the Braves were unable to overcome the Cubs' lead.
