Chicago Cubs release eight players ahead of Marlins series finale

The Chicago Cubs have released eight players from their organization ahead of the series finale against the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field. The released players include Luis Sanchez, Luis Leon, Frankelly Desis, Bryan Landaez, Juan Monso, Rowell Arroyo, Ronnyel Espinoza, and Diego Gonzalez. Rowell Arroyo was the only individual among the group to play above rookie ball during the current season, while the others were active in the Dominican Summer League.
