New England Revolution defeat Chicago Fire 2-1 to claim third in Eastern Conference

The New England Revolution defeated the Chicago Fire 2-1 at Soldier Field on Sunday, moving into sole possession of third place in the MLS Eastern Conference with 43 points.

Dor Turgeman opened the scoring in the 39th minute after winning a race with defender Sam Rogers, and later provided an assist to Peyton Miller in the 47th minute to double the lead. Chicago's Maren Haile-Selassie pulled one back in the 62nd minute, but the Revolution held on to snap Chicago's seven-match unbeaten streak.

New England goalkeeper Matt Turner made several key saves to secure the victory, which concludes a successful four-game road stretch for the team. The win marks a significant moment for head coach Marko Mitrović, who returned to Chicago where he previously served as an assistant coach.
