Chicago police charge third suspect in CTA Red Line death

A third suspect, 18-year-old Christian McBounds, has been charged with five felony counts, including first-degree murder, in connection with the death of Kyle Bickham. Bickham was killed on September 7 after being pushed from a moving CTA Red Line train near the 69th Street station in Chicago.

Prosecutors allege that an altercation broke out on the train between Bickham, a teenage girl, and two males. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the group repeatedly punching Bickham. During the struggle, one male allegedly pulled the emergency lever to open the doors while the train was in motion, and a teenage girl, along with one of the males, allegedly threw Bickham from the vehicle. Bickham was subsequently struck by a train traveling in the opposite direction.

In addition to McBounds, 19-year-old Katlar Parchman has been charged with first-degree murder, multiple additional murder counts, aggravated battery of a transit employee, and mob action. A 15-year-old girl was also charged in connection with the incident. Parchman has been ordered detained until trial.
