Chiclayo prepares for Pope Leo XIV visit with new city signage

The city of Chiclayo is undergoing preparations for the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV, scheduled for November 13 and 14. As part of the city's efforts to welcome the pontiff, a new golden sign reading ‘Chiclayo, Ciudad del Papa León XIV’ has been installed on the pergola of the main park in the historic center.

The structure, featuring letters approximately 70 centimeters high in relief, has already become a point of interest for local residents and tourists. Municipal authorities are organizing the area around the sign to manage the flow of people taking photographs and to maintain order in the busy central district.

These urban interventions are part of a broader plan to prepare public spaces, access roads, and event venues for the papal visit. The event is expected to highlight the religious, cultural, and tourist heritage of the Lambayeque region.
