Chico Buarque repertoire reimagined in ‘Chico 2.0’ project
The musical project ‘Chico 2.0’ has launched, featuring reimagined versions of iconic songs by Chico Buarque. The project aims to connect Buarque’s repertoire with younger audiences by blending his original compositions with diverse contemporary genres, including rap, trap, funk, R&B, soul, and samba.
Released in two parts, the first installment became available on digital platforms on Friday, August 21, with the second part scheduled for release in October. The production is a collaboration between Universal Music, Tha House Company, and FRecords, under the musical direction of Alê Siqueira and Felipe Poeta.
The project features a wide array of artists, including MC Cabelinho, Dexter, Don L, Tasha & Tracie, Xênia França, MC Livinho, Budah, and Grag Queen, among others. Notable tracks include reinterpretations of ‘Cálice’ by Xênia França and MC Cabelinho, and ‘Construção’ by Dexter, Maurício Pazz, and MC Livinho.
