Chieti and Province plan infrastructure and urban regeneration

The Municipality of Chieti and the Province of Chieti have established a technical agreement to improve road safety, traffic management, and urban planning in several strategic areas. A primary focus is the transfer of management for Strada della Pace from the Consorzio di Bonifica to the Province. This road serves as a vital link between Chieti, Bucchianico, and Val Pescara, handling over 6,000 vehicles daily.

To protect residents in the Filippone district, authorities plan to introduce restrictions on heavy vehicle traffic and enhance signage. Additionally, officials are addressing traffic and parking disruptions caused by ongoing school construction projects in the via d’Aragona and via Ferri areas.

The agreement also includes an urban regeneration strategy to repurpose unused provincial properties, such as the former Istituto d’Arte and ex Avviamento. Proposals include demolishing non-recoverable structures to create new parking areas and green spaces for local residents and students.
