Chieti urban infrastructure and service management

Overview

The Municipality and Province of Chieti have initiated several administrative measures to improve local infrastructure and urban services.

Authorities established a technical agreement to enhance road safety and traffic management, specifically focusing on the Strada della Pace to better manage the high volume of daily vehicles. The plan includes introducing heavy vehicle restrictions in the Filippone district and addressing traffic disruptions caused by school construction. Furthermore, an urban regeneration strategy aims to repurpose unused provincial properties into green spaces and parking areas.

In a separate administrative move, the Chieti City Council approved a new integrated waste management strategy. This includes acquiring shares in the public company Eco. Lan S.p.A. to manage waste treatment and disposal facilities. Other services, such as street sweeping and collection, will be managed through competitive tenders to ensure efficiency and quality.
