Chieti nursery school construction nears completion

Construction of the new municipal nursery school in the Villaggio Mediterraneo district of Chieti Scalo is nearing completion. Funded by 2 million euros from the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), the project is expected to be finished by the end of August.

Local officials, including Mayor Giovanni Legnini and Public Works Assessor Luigi Febo, conducted a site inspection to confirm progress. Current tasks include completing window frames and systems this week, followed by floor installation. The 840-square-meter facility includes 700 square meters for children, 140 square meters for services, and a 640-square-meter fenced outdoor play area.

The building is designed as a Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB), featuring a photovoltaic system for self-produced energy and low-impact materials to ensure sustainability. A coordination meeting is scheduled for September 2 to manage the handover of the building, and procurement processes for indoor and outdoor furniture are set to begin shortly.
