Chihuahua authorities close 23 businesses after alcohol inspections
The Chihuahua State Government's Subsecretaría de Gobernación conducted 353 inspections of establishments selling alcoholic beverages between August 24 and August 30, 2026. These operations resulted in the closure of 23 businesses across the state.
Ciudad Juárez saw the highest number of enforcement actions with 14 closures, primarily involving grocery stores cited for business type violations, as well as restaurants and event halls operating without permits. Other closures occurred in Chihuahua City (5), Cuauhtémoc (2), and Delicias (2).
Violations included operating outside of permitted hours, failure to address official notices, lack of annual revalidation, and unauthorized extraction of alcoholic beverages. State authorities have urged business owners to comply with current regulations to avoid further sanctions.
