Chihuahua cattle exports to US to begin with 825 head

The Unión Ganadera Regional de Chihuahua (UGRCH) has announced plans to begin exporting cattle to the United States, starting with 825 head of livestock during the first week of reopening on September 24. Álvaro Bustillos, president of the UGRCH, reported that 65,000 head of cattle have already been registered for export via the VacaNet platform.

To manage the initial limited quotas, the UGRCH is using a lottery system based on the National Lottery's winning number to determine export turns. Smaller lots are expected to have a higher probability of being accommodated within the current limits. The organization is currently negotiating with the USDA to increase quotas as quarantine processes stabilize and other border crossings, such as Palomas, reopen.

In conjunction with these export developments, the UGRCH is also recruiting personnel for its San Jerónimo facilities in Ciudad Juárez. The organization is seeking cattle herders for tasks including livestock movement, pen maintenance, and weighing. The positions offer immediate hiring for candidates with at least a primary education, regardless of prior experience.
