Chihuahua completes LED lighting modernization in rural areas
The municipal government of Chihuahua has completed the modernization of public lighting in the city's rural areas. Mayor Marco Bonilla announced that LED technology has been installed across 65 ejidos, benefiting more than 2,000 residents.
According to Christian Medellín, Director of Urban Maintenance, the project involved replacing over 1,350 old luminaries with high-efficiency LED equipment. This initiative is part of a broader municipal program to convert public lighting to LED technology, which has currently reached a progress rate of over 96 percent.
While the rural sectors are now fully modernized, remaining works will focus on the northern part of the city, specifically targeting closed residential developments, parks, and gardens. The city has already achieved 100 percent coverage in main roads and open neighborhoods.
