Chihuahua contributes 6.7% of Mexico's national value added
Chihuahua remains a significant driver of the Mexican economy, contributing 6.7% of the national value added, totaling 164,236 million pesos. The state ranks sixth nationally in this indicator and holds the second position in terms of total personnel employed, with 367,825 workers. Additionally, Chihuahua ranks fourth in the country for average monthly administrative salaries, which stand at 35,959 pesos.
Despite these economic strengths, the state has experienced a decline in competitiveness. According to the State Competitiveness Index (ICE) by the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), Chihuahua fell from eighth to fifteenth place nationally. Business leaders from the CCE are conducting a detailed analysis to identify the causes of this drop, particularly noting declines in the Innovation and Economy and Labor Market pillars, in an effort to develop strategies to restore the state's standing.
