Chihuahua hosts various cultural festivals and art exhibitions

The city of Chihuahua is hosting several major cultural events, including the Festival Internacional de la Ciudad de Chihuahua (FICUU) 2026 and the Festival Internacional del Estado de Chihuahua (FICH). FICUU 2026 features diverse programming such as street art performances by Chilean clown Karcocha and musical tributes like the jazz-style Michael Jackson homage, ‘Moonwalk’. The festival is set to conclude with a free concert by Alejandro Fernández at Plaza del Ángel on October 12.

Simultaneously, the FICH and the Festival de Arte Nuevo (FAN) have drawn over 5,000 attendees during their first week, offering free activities including film screenings, piano concerts, and theater performances at venues like the Los Laureles Cultural Complex and Museo Casa Chihuahua.

In addition to these festivals, Casa Chihuahua has inaugurated the ‘Grandes Maestros del Arte Popular Mexicano’ exhibition, showcasing 226 pieces from 179 artisans across 26 Mexican states. Furthermore, artisans from Mata Ortiz and the Sierra Tarahumara are participating in the ‘Visión y Tradición’ platform at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City as part of Design Week Mexico 2026.
