Chihuahua cultural institutions showcase regional and indigenous heritage

Cultural institutions in Chihuahua are hosting various performances to celebrate regional heritage and indigenous traditions.

The Centro Municipal de las Artes (CMA) dance company, ‘México, Fiesta y Tradición’, debuted its new season with the production ‘Chihuahua, nuestra herencia’. Directed by Lilia Ruvalcaba, the show features dance styles such as redovas, polkas, and contemporary dance, incorporating elements of Tarahumara culture and the Mexican Revolution to highlight the state's history.

Additionally, Casa Chihuahua Centro de Patrimonio Cultural presented ‘Gawí, cuentos de la tierra’, a puppet theater performance by the company Fantasía Impromptu. The production uses five ancestral legends to explore the Rarámuri worldview and its connection to nature, aiming to promote the recognition and celebration of indigenous cultural diversity.
