Chihuahua initiatives drive regional economic and community development
Various sectors in Chihuahua are launching initiatives to bolster economic competitiveness and social welfare. In the manufacturing sector, INDEX Chihuahua inaugurated the third edition of INDEX Connect 2026, an event connecting 31 buyers with over 60 suppliers to integrate local companies into global supply chains. This effort aims to capitalize on the reorganization of international trade and the demand for nearshoring.
In the agro-industrial sector, CANACINTRA and the Secretariat of Rural Development presented the third edition of the Agro-industrial Export School. The program will provide 48 hours of hybrid training to 20 companies from regions including Ciudad Juárez and Delicias to enhance their international market competitiveness.
Social development is being addressed through the IMPACTA 2030 initiative in Ciudad Juárez. A partnership between FECHAC, FICOSEC, and Southwest Export Manufacturing (SWEM) has secured over 9 million pesos to fund community projects focusing on mental health, education, and youth leadership in southeastern neighborhoods.
Additionally, the state is promoting tourism through the Chihuahua Discovery Travel Market 2026, which facilitated over 800 business appointments to strengthen the regional tourism value chain. Meanwhile, the Expogan 2026 livestock festival has commenced in Chihuahua, serving as a major commercial and cultural event for the regional livestock industry.
