Chihuahua hosts urban planning and citizen consultation forums
Authorities and specialists recently convened for the Foro Urbano 2026 in Chihuahua to discuss the implementation of strategic urban projects. During the forum, city officials emphasized that urban planning must transcend individual administrations to ensure long-term benefits for mobility, resource management, and connectivity. Alondra Martínez Ayón, director of the Municipal Institute of Integral Planning, noted that the primary challenge lies in converting theoretical plans and diagnostics into actionable, realized projects.
Simultaneously, the “Chihuahua Fregón” consultation forums are traveling across various regions of the state to facilitate citizen participation. These forums address diverse strategic themes including health, education, water, energy, and regional productivity. Recent sessions have covered specific local issues such as suicide prevention in La Cruz, agricultural value-added production for walnut growers in Aldama, and youth-focused discussions in Casas Grandes.
