Taiwan expands educational and professional exchange programs with Latin America
Various educational and professional development programs are facilitating student exchanges between Latin America and Taiwan.
In Guatemala, scholarship recipients from the MOFA, Huayu, and TaiwanICDF programs are traveling to Taiwan to pursue higher education and Mandarin language training, fostering cultural and academic ties between the two nations.
In Mexico, several initiatives are training specialized talent. In Chihuahua, the Government of the State, in collaboration with Pegatron Mexico and Ming Chuan University (MCU), has launched the MCU x Pegatron Global Elite Talent Development Program. The first cohort includes two students who will study Industrial Engineering in English for four years in Taiwan, with opportunities for professional internships and future employment at Pegatron.
Additionally, the Sonora Talento Sonorense program is sending its third generation of students to Taiwan for 10-month academic stays to strengthen regional competitiveness and integrate local talent into North American supply chains.
