Chihuahua, Mexico Issues Alerts for Strong Winds, Dust Storms and Rain
The State Civil Protection Coordination in Chihuahua warned that wind gusts could exceed 65 km/h on Wednesday and Thursday, with dust storms expected on highway sections such as Chihuahua‑Juárez and Juárez‑Janos. Rainfall is forecast for the northwest, west, southwest and central parts of the state, with potential thunderstorms, lightning and hail. Temperatures may reach 42°C in Ojinaga and 39°C in Juárez. Residents were urged to avoid crossing streams, stay hydrated and follow official updates.
In the municipality of Delicias, authorities said moderate rain of about five millimetres is expected over the next few days. While no floods have been reported, civil protection officials will monitor conditions, inspect vulnerable areas and advise citizens to waterproof roofs, clean drains and report any risks promptly.
