LICONSA faces investigation over 45 million pesos in Chihuahua irregularities

The audit reportedly identified approximately 45 million pesos in unaccounted funds, including payments made to deceased individuals.

The controversy centers on the management of LICONSA in Chihuahua under Gregorio Chávez Treviño, who is the brother of Senator Andrea Chávez. Local deputies from both the PRI and PAN have called for transparency, emphasizing that political or family connections should not prevent a thorough investigation into the potential diversion of resources.

Producers in the region have reported difficulties receiving timely and fair payments, facing challenges such as drought and high costs, while public funds intended for the agricultural sector are under scrutiny. The CNC has expressed support for producers, demanding that the federal government ensure resources reach those working in the field.
