Mexican investigations into political financial irregularit[

Mexican authorities and political leaders are investigating financial irregularities involving entities linked to the Morena party. The Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT) is seeking over 695 million pesos from Soluciones Integrales en Gestión de Riesgos regarding unpaid taxes related to a 1.2 billion peso contract with the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) for COVID-19 ventilators.

Concurrently, the PRI has called for investigations into Liconsa following findings by the Superior Auditor of the Federation (ASF). Allegations include approximately 45 million pesos in unaccounted funds, including payments made to deceased individuals and producers who exceeded milk production limits in Chihuahua, Coahuila, and Jalisco.

In Chihuahua, the controversy centers on the management of Liconsa under Gregorio Chávez Treviño, the brother of Senator Andrea Chávez. Local deputies from the PRI and PAN have demanded transparency, emphasizing that investigations must proceed “regardless of political or family connections.”

Regional producers have reported difficulties receiving timely and fair payments while facing challenges such as drought and high costs. The National Peasant Confederation (CNC) has expressed support for these producers, demanding that the federal government ensure resources reach those working in the field. Legislators continue to call on the ASF to determine the final destination of the disputed funds and address the suspicious transactions registered under the names of deceased individuals.
