Chihuahua security officials meet to strengthen binational border violence protocol

The Chihuahua State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE) participated in a Border Violence Protocol (BVP) meeting for the El Paso Sector held in Ciudad Juarez. The meeting focused on strengthening binational security coordination and following up on agreements established in early October.

Participants exchanged information regarding arrests, seizures of narcotics and weapons, and recorded border violence incidents from October 2026. The analysis covered specific border areas, including the stretch between Presidio, Texas, and Ojinaga, Chihuahua, as well as the region between Antelope Wells, New Mexico, and El Berrendo, Chihuahua.

The mechanism facilitates direct communication between the SSPE and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), alongside Mexican federal and municipal authorities. Attendees included representatives from the State Investigation Agency, the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard, the National Intelligence Center, and the Federal Attorney General's Office.
