Chiikawa announces new New Year and stationery merchandise

New merchandise for the popular Japanese character series “Chiikawa” has been announced, featuring items themed around the New Year and stationery.

New Year-themed money envelopes (kifū) and gift bags will be available starting in mid-October through various retailers, including Loft, Hands, and Seven-Eleven. Additionally, Bandai will release the sixth volume of the “Bookmark Collection” and the fourth volume of the “Collection File” on December 21, 2026. The bookmark collection includes 25 different designs, while the collection file will come with a limited-edition bookmark.

The “Chiikawa” franchise, created by illustrator Nagano, has seen massive success, with its recent film “Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island” reaching 14.67 billion yen in box office revenue as of September 13.
