Chiikawa film introduces new plush toys and Tokyo pop‑up store

The upcoming movie "Chiikawa: Secret of the Mermaid Island" will be released in Japanese theaters on July 24, 2026. To coincide with the launch, two new prize items are being released: a "Siren BIG" plush doll (available in two versions) and an "Aurora Beach" tote bag (also in two designs). The official X account is running a follow‑and‑repost campaign that gives participants a chance to win a set of the plush dolls, with entries closing on July 26.

A dedicated pop‑up store for the film will open at Hibiya Chante on the third floor from July 24 through August 30 (excluding the museum's closed day on August 3). The venue will sell the new merchandise featuring the film's visuals, display stand‑up panels, and also offer a puzzle‑kit version of the "Chiikawa, we’re looking for you" metro escape game.
