ChiiKawa film launch drives new popcorn, cup holder and bakery products across Japan

Japan’s animated feature “ChiiKawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island” opens on July 24, 2026. To mark the debut, themed merchandise is being sold at cinema locations nationwide, including a Seiren‑design drink‑cup holder priced at ¥3,500 (tax inclusive) and a three‑dimensional ChiiKawa popcorn box for ¥2,000. Buyers may purchase up to three items per transaction.

Concurrently, the ChiiKawa Bakery and its Osaka branch introduced a range of limited‑edition breads and snacks. A permanent line of three flower‑crowned breads (ChiiKawa, Hachiware, and Rabbit) is offered for ¥660 each. Seasonal items include a Yakisoba‑bread (¥620) and a “Bin‑yo‑yo” bun (¥620) from July 24 to September 17, followed by a Spicy Seiren Curry bun (¥660) and a “Friendly Mermaid Tear” bread (¥620) from September 18 to October 22. Purchases also earn a random movie coaster and complimentary drink promotions.
