Chiikawa film promotions launch at PARCO stores and on Tokyo Metro

Japan's upcoming animated feature "Chiikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" is being promoted through two nationwide campaigns. From July 17 to August 2, 16 PARCO department stores—including the flagship location in Fukuoka—run a "Chiikawa, PARCO, Summer" tie‑in that offers original merchandise, a keyword rally, themed photo booths and limited‑edition clear pouches for the first 70 000 shoppers who spend ¥5,500 or more. The campaign also includes a social‑media contest for dessert‑cup giveaways.

Separately, the escape‑room platform ESCAPE.ID is offering a city‑wide puzzle kit tied to the film. Starting July 24 and running until November 3, participants buy a kit and use the ESCAPE.ID app to solve riddles across Tokyo Metro stations, searching for the missing characters Chiikawa, Hachiwara and the rabbit. Completion of all puzzles unlocks a final challenge and a chance to win special film‑related prizes.
