Chiikawa merchandise expands with new mascots and interactive chocolates
Various new and re-released merchandise based on the popular character franchise ‘Chiikawa’ are becoming available in Japan.
Kitan Club has announced the re-release of the ‘Chiikawa Heart Rubber Mascot’ series, starting September 11. These approximately 6cm heart-shaped rubber mascots feature characters such as Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi holding chocolates. The collection includes eight different varieties, each with a color scheme matching the specific character, and they are priced at 400 yen per capsule toy attempt.
Additionally, Bandai has released a ‘Chiikawa Charapaki’ chocolate series featuring a ‘Sasumata’ (forked pole) tool. This interactive snack allows consumers to use a small plastic tool to break apart puffed chocolate plates to reveal character shapes. The series includes four flavors, such as Muscat and Strawberry Milk, and features eight different character designs including Rakko and Shishisa.
