Bandai and retail merchandise releases in Japan

Overview

Bandai and other retailers have announced several merchandise releases for various media franchises in Japan. In mid-August, Bandai scheduled the Dragon Ball ‘Mejirushi Accessory 4’ Gashapon collection for the fifth week of August. Starting September 5, 2026, Shimamura will release a ‘Cardcaptor Sakura’ collection featuring tote bags with charms, smart key cases, and die-cut pouches featuring Sakura Kinomoto and Kero. The retailer is also highlighting collaborations with PEANUTS and ‘Magical Angel Creamy Mami’. New ‘Chiikawa’ merchandise includes a re-release of the ‘Chiikawa Heart Rubber Mascot’ series by Kitan Club on September 11, featuring eight varieties of 6cm heart-shaped mascots priced at 400 yen per attempt.
