Chișinău block fire forces evacuation of 15 residents, including children
On the morning of 7 June, a fire broke out in the attic of a five‑storey block on Andrei Doga 13/C in Chișinău. Rapid response by the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) led to the evacuation of 15 people – ten adults and five children – and the fire was brought under control by 07:01. Preliminary investigations suggested that atmospheric electrical discharges during recent rain may have triggered the blaze, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
A separate incident on 8 June involved a fire on the roof of an abandoned building on Aleksandr Pușkin street in the city centre. Four fire crews were deployed; no one was present in the building and the flames did not spread to nearby structures. The cause of this fire is also pending further analysis.
In Romania, a solar‑panel installation caused a fire at an auxiliary house in Girov, Neamț County, on 7 June. The blaze damaged the electrical panel and surrounding walls but caused no injuries. Another fire occurred on the same day in an apartment on Calea București in Pitești, Argeș County; firefighters contained the flames to a single room, preventing any casualties.
