Child dies in Dąbie Kujawskie after drowning incident

A six-year-old boy has died following an incident at a family event in Dąbie Kujawskie, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The tragedy occurred on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Zajazd Piłsudskiego restaurant and lodging complex.

During the celebration, the child reportedly wandered away from the table unnoticed. After adults realized the boy was missing, a search was initiated, and he was discovered unconscious in a water reservoir at approximately 6:00 PM. Despite emergency response efforts from paramedics and an LPR medical helicopter, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Włocławek is currently investigating the circumstances of the death. Małgorzata Kręcicka, spokesperson for the prosecutor's office, stated that investigators are working to verify various hypotheses and have conducted supplementary inspections at the scene.
