Children Join Ascoli Piceno's Quintana Parade for First Time
On Sunday, August 2, 2026, the historic Quintana festival in Ascoli Piceno added a special children's parade after the traditional jousting event. Organized by choreographer Mirko Isopi, the parade invites youngsters under eight to walk the route from the corner of Caffè Meletti and Pinko to Piazza del Popolo, either in parents' arms or accompanied by coordinators. No period costume is required; participants may wear everyday clothes. The initiative aims to introduce the city’s centuries‑old tradition to a new generation and foster a sense of belonging among Ascolani.
The procession features drums, trumpets, and the municipal group with the Magnifico Messere, magistrates, and the Council of Elders, creating a festive atmosphere for the children and their families.
