Ascoli Piceno Quintana festival 2026

In late July 2026, the city of Ascoli Piceno began formal preparations for the 102nd edition of its historic Quintana festival. A presentation at the Pinacoteca Civica introduced the new Palio, a three‑dimensional tapestry designed by Antonio Marras that combined historic fabrics with contemporary artistry. Officials highlighted the event’s cultural significance, and five noblewomen representing the city’s historic quarters were announced, along with a new group of armati and the appointment of Alessia Di Pietrantonio as the dame of the red rose.

A few days later, on 2 August 2026, the festival incorporated a children’s parade for the first time. Organized by choreographer Mirko Isopi, the procession allowed youngsters under eight to walk the route through the city without period costumes, aiming to introduce younger generations to the centuries‑old tradition. The children's march was integrated into the larger celebration, which featured drums, trumpets, municipal dignitaries, and the traditional jousting event, reinforcing community participation and continuity of the Quintana heritage.
