Chile advances sustainability with corporate dialogue and climate entrepreneurship training
Pacto Global Chile held the second meeting of its “Business Case for Sustainability” series, bringing together leaders from the private sector, unions, academia and innovation to discuss the future of work. Participants highlighted that technological change, artificial intelligence, demographic shifts and new forms of employment require collective action, trust and ongoing dialogue. Speakers such as Hernán Araneda of Fundación Chile and Boris Garrido of CUT Chile stressed the need for permanent social dialogue and continuous skill development to ensure Chile can harness innovation.
Separately, the Association of Industrials of Iquique and Tamarugal (AII) partnered with CORFO to deliver the fifth module of the “StartClima” program in Iquique. The workshop, titled “Sustainable Entrepreneurship and the SDGs,” provided entrepreneurs and companies with tools on climate‑resilient business models, circular economy and the Sustainable Development Goals. The 40‑hour training aims to strengthen the regional ecosystem by fostering sustainable, competitive enterprises.
