Chile and Argentina push ahead with large-scale public asset sales

The Chilean Ministry of National Assets announced the first phase of a plan to sell 100 state‑owned properties valued at about US$70 million, with 14 properties in the Coquimbo region now available through a new digital bidding portal. The broader program targets roughly 1,200 under‑used assets and aims to raise up to US$300 million for public finances.

Argentina issued Resolution 120/26 to contract private digital platforms for online auctions of unused state movable assets, extending a system introduced in July. The measure, signed by Agency of Administration of State Assets head Tania Yedro and explained by Minister of Desregulation Federico Sturzenegger, will cover vehicles, machinery, equipment, artwork and other items, seeking to speed disposals and reduce holding costs.
