Chile and Australia Sign Mining Cooperation Pact Ahead of EXPONOR 2026

Representatives of the Association of Industrials of Antofagasta (AIA) and the Australia‑Chile Chamber of Commerce (AUSCHAM) signed a memorandum of understanding during the Australia‑Chile Networking Night in Antofagasta. The agreement aims to deepen bilateral cooperation in mining, innovation, technology, energy and business opportunities, positioning the region for the upcoming EXPONOR 2026 exhibition.

Marko Razmilic, president of the AIA, said the pact honors the historic commercial relationship and will expand ties in technology and sustainability. Australian Ambassador Andrew Martin highlighted Antofagasta’s role as the mining hub where the partnership is rooted. EXPONOR, scheduled for 8‑11 June 2026, will showcase global mining and energy technologies, providing a platform for further collaboration and investment between Chile and Australia.
