Chile and Mexico grant property titles to thousands of families

In Retiro, Chile, 159 families received deeds for the Brisas de Retiro housing complex, formalising legal ownership. The ceremony was attended by regional delegate Juan Eduardo Prieto, Governor Pedro Álvarez‑Salamanca and Mayor Rafael Ramírez. The project was delivered through the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism’s Solidarity Housing Fund, completing the final step of the housing programme.

In Tamaulipas, Mexico, the state government led by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya held a meeting chaired by ITAVU director Germán Fernández Guzmán to streamline property‑title processes. Officials from the Institute of Registration and Cadastre and other agencies agreed on new coordination mechanisms to accelerate regularisation for more families, aiming to reduce waiting times and strengthen legal security of homes.
