Chile and Peru discuss mining and energy cooperation

Business leaders and government officials from Chile and Peru met at the XXI Meeting of the Chilean-Peruvian Business Council (CEChP) to discuss mining and energy policies. Peruvian Minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno, presented on mining and energy priorities and opportunities for cooperation with Chile. The meeting included representatives from SOFOFA and ComexPerú, aiming to strengthen economic ties and sustainable development between the two nations.

In Chile, President José Antonio Kast attended the XXI Southern Business Meeting in Valdivia to address economic challenges in the Los Ríos Region. Kast emphasized four pillars for growth: security, tax competitiveness, regulatory facilitation, and fiscal responsibility. He also discussed strategies to combat unemployment through public works and highlighted new legislation regarding police response times and the use of force to combat organized crime.
