Chile announces new social benefits for Coquimbo and Aysén
The Chilean government has announced several social support initiatives targeting vulnerable populations in different regions. In the Coquimbo Region, an extraordinary childhood support bonus of $30,000 CLP per child will be paid before September 18. This benefit aims to assist the most vulnerable 80% of households according to the Social Household Registry, potentially benefiting approximately 108,000 children up to 13 years of age. The funds will be assigned directly to the mother registered in the birth certificate.
In the Aysén Region, the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Gender Equality, is launching a subsidy program for female heads of household. Through the 'Tarjeta Banco de Materiales', women in urban areas of Aysén and Coyhaique can apply for funds ranging from 15 UF to 40 UF to finance low-complexity home repairs, such as fixing roofs, bathrooms, or installing fences and gates. The program is designed for female property owners with medium incomes.
