Chile implements social support and housing initiatives

Various social and administrative initiatives are being implemented across Chile to support vulnerable populations. In the Aysén region, the signing of deeds for the transfer of a 5-hectare fiscal land in Cochrane will provide housing solutions for over 120 families. In La Araucanía, the delivery of land titles in Loncoche aims to allow residents to improve their housing conditions and access essential services like water and electricity.

Caregiver support is also expanding. In the Maule region, 22 caregivers were certified through a collaborative training program, while in Penco, 89 technical aids—including wheelchairs and clinical beds—were distributed to families under the Chile Cuida program. Additionally, the Local Support and Care Network is expanding in the O’Higgins region, increasing coverage to 30 communes and nearly 3,400 households to assist those in situations of dependency.

In the justice sector, the National Juvenile Social Reinsertion Service reported serving 8,334 adolescents as of September 2026, with ongoing efforts to improve coordination with Gendarmería de Chile regarding facility security and operational efficiency.
