Chile exports grow 15% to US$70.6 billion in first seven months of 2026

Chilean exports grew by 15% between January and July 2026, totaling US$70.6 billion. According to the Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (SUBREI), the mining sector accounted for 61.4% of these shipments, generating US$43.3 billion. Copper exports reached US$35.6 billion, while lithium returns nearly tripled to US$3.7 billion.

Non-mining exports rose by 5.8% to US$27.2 billion, led by the food sector, which reached a historic high of US$8.3 billion. Chilean food products were sent to 147 markets globally, with the United States remaining the primary destination, accounting for approximately 30% of the sector's exports. Other major markets included Japan, Brazil, China, Mexico, and South Korea.

In the Magallanes region, exports saw a significant surge in June, reaching US$159.7 million, a 75.3% increase compared to June 2025. The industrial sector drove this growth, representing 96.6% of the region's total exports. Within this sector, food exports reached US$89.9 million, while petroleum refinery products saw a substantial increase from US$0.4 million in the previous year to US$19.4 million.
