Chile implements automatic 30,000 CLP child support bonus
Chile has implemented the 'Bono Extraordinario de Apoyo a la Niñez', a state benefit providing 30,000 CLP for each eligible child. The payment process began in September and is distributed automatically to qualifying families based on official state records, requiring no formal application.
The benefit is primarily directed at children up to 13 years of age who belong to households within the most vulnerable 80%, according to the Registro Social de Hogares (RSH). It also includes minors in alternative family care arrangements and children born within specific periods defined by Law No. 21,840.
Payments are typically made through BancoEstado's CuentaRUT, though in-person collection options exist. Families can verify their eligibility and assigned amounts by using their RUN and ClaveÚnica on the official consultation website.
