Valparaíso Port and regional Chilean initiatives advance energy and social projects

Various regional initiatives are underway across Chile focusing on social development, infrastructure, and professional training. In Valparaíso, Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV) and Grupo Empresas Chilquinta have signed a strategic alliance to drive the port's electrical reconversion. This roadmap includes evaluating electromobility, renewable energy integration, and On-Shore Power Supply (OPS) technologies to reduce emissions and modernize infrastructure.

Social and educational programs are also expanding. In Puerto Aysén, a joint initiative is working on the reintegration of female inmates through vocational training such as greenhouse management and weaving. In the Maule region, the Liceo Bicentenario Polivalente de Rauco received infrastructure improvements to support technical-professional education. Additionally, a program in Malleco aims to certify 160 caregivers to promote economic autonomy.

Gender equity remains a focus, with the SernamEG announcing funds for women's organizations and a leadership program for women in STEM across several South American countries. In Santiago, the government delivered a high-standard firefighting unit to the Cuerpo de Bomberos de Santiago, representing a significant regional investment in emergency response capabilities.
