Chile invests nearly 1 billion pesos in security projects across Maule region

The Chilean government is allocating close to 1 billion Chilean pesos to strengthen public safety in the Maule region. The funding will support the installation of surveillance cameras, the acquisition of vehicles, and the launch of preventive programmes in municipalities such as Talca, Curicó, Pelluhue, Cauquenes, Longaví, Romeral and San Clemente.

Regional presidential delegate Juan Eduardo Prieto and Public Security minister Germán Parra said the resources, provided through the National Municipal Security System, aim to improve coordination among local authorities, Carabineros, the Police Investigations Directorate and community groups, enhancing rapid response and crime‑prevention efforts.
