Chilean regional exports and port logistics developments

In the Antofagasta region, exports saw a 50% increase in August, reaching a total of US$ 4,534.8 million. Regional logistics are expanding, with Sierra Gorda projecting a new logistics node and developments in warehouse and yard expansions in La Negra.

On a national level, Chile has become a founding member of a new Port Forum aimed at increasing influence across Ibero-America. Port cities continue to play a critical role in the national economy, with specific sustainability and strategic initiatives underway. In Valparaíso, a pilot program has launched featuring a 100% electric truck for cargo transport, and the Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV) is participating in an international congress on port sustainability.

Additionally, discussions regarding international integration continue, with mining encounters highlighting possibilities and challenges for cooperation with Argentina.
