The Chilean government has launched several initiatives to support entrepreneurship and employment. A major component is the Sercotec ‘Capital Semilla Modo Empleo’ fund, which has a total budget of 2,500 million pesos for its first stage. This program provides non-reimbursable subsidies of 3 million pesos to approximately 583 unemployed individuals to help them start and formalize new businesses. The fund specifically targets priority groups, including youth (18-29), women (30-54), and adults over 55. Beneficiaries also receive specialized technical advisory and accompaniment.

Other regional support includes FOSIS programs in Mariquina and Máfil with an 81 million peso investment, and a 230 million peso initiative in Temuco to benefit over 250 entrepreneurs. In the Biobío region, Sercotec is evaluating projects for the Capital Abeja and Capital Semilla Emprende programs, offering 3.5 million peso subsidies. Additionally, Corfo has selected 145 innovative startups for its Inicia and Expande programs to scale their operations in sectors like AI, health, and energy.

In Huechuraba, the Duplas Intergeneracionales Tech program has begun, pairing senior professionals with young digital talents to develop AI-supported prototypes.
