Chile marks conservation milestones with new exhibitions and facility upgrades

Chile is marking significant milestones in environmental conservation through new exhibitions and facility upgrades. In Puerto Varas, the Fundación Parque Tantauco and Fundación Rewilding Chile, supported by local authorities, launched the itinerant exhibition ‘100 Years of Conservation in Chile’. The display highlights key milestones in the country's biodiversity protection and the legacy of natural heritage management.

In Punta Arenas, the Corporación Nacional Forestal (Conaf) inaugurated the remodeled visitor center of the Magallanes National Reserve. Funded by the National Heritage Service, the project includes a 37-square-meter mini-museum featuring 3D information panels on local flora, fauna, geology, and archaeological findings. This renovation aims to showcase the region's natural and ancestral history, noting that the reserve is one of the oldest protected areas in the country.
