Chile offers up to $9 million subsidies for sustainable small businesses

Chile's agency Sercotec has opened a new round of subsidies under the Development Productive Sustainable (DPS) programme. Up to 9 million Chilean pesos can be granted to micro and small enterprises that invest in sustainable technologies such as energy‑efficient equipment, solar panels, water‑saving systems and circular‑economy projects. The call, closing on 8 July, targets about 370 firms nationwide and is part of a $3.778 billion budget aimed at creating 50,000 new jobs.

One beneficiary, the Casa Cuore pet‑care hotel in Colina, installed 12 photovoltaic panels and reduced its electricity bill from more than 400,000 pesos to 166,000 pesos. The programme is promoted by Sercotec general manager Henry Azurmendi as a means to boost both the economy and Chile’s climate commitments.

Separately, the Corfo Red Proveedores programme in the Candelaria district of the Atacama region is conducting a diagnostic phase with 25 micro‑ and small‑businesses from Tierra Amarilla. Backed by Lundin Mining and the Regional Productive Development Committee, the initiative will move to an implementation stage in 2026 to integrate these firms into local supply chains. The project is coordinated locally by Corproa.
