Venezuelan Tren del Coro Leader Arrested in Colombia for Chilean Femicide Probe

Chilean police, in coordination with Interpol offices in Santiago and Bogotá, captured a 31‑year‑old Venezuelan citizen in Medellín, Colombia. The detainee is identified as an active leader of the transnational criminal group Tren del Coro and is wanted by Chilean authorities for a femicide committed in Arica in May 2024, for which an international arrest warrant was issued in June 2025. He also faces charges of double homicide with a firearm, an attempted double homicide, robbery with intimidation, extortion, conditional threats and criminal association.

According to Subprefect Julio Ceballo, “El imputado es integrante activo y líder de la organización transnacional Tren del Coro…” The suspect attempted to conceal his identity with a forged ID, as noted by Interpol Commissioner Alex Varela: “Al momento de su detención esta persona portaba una cédula de identidad adulterada…”. Identity was confirmed through fingerprint analysis after information exchange between Interpol Santiago and Interpol Bogotá. Chile will now initiate diplomatic and judicial procedures to request his extradition from Colombia.

The individual, known by the alias “Guayo,” is linked to the Tren del Coro, a splinter of Los Gallegos, the operational arm of the Tren de Aragua, and has been implicated in armed disputes over drug trafficking in the Arica region.
