Police Detain Suspects in Theft Cases Across Argentina and Chile

Buenos Aires police captured a 27‑year‑old man wanted for attempted fratricide in Villa Soldati and detained a suspect caught stealing in a Mataderos apartment. In Chile, municipal and Carabineros forces arrested a man who had stolen eight cattle in Bucalemu and later seized a vehicle used in the crime; a separate operation in Antofagasta led to the arrest of a suspect linked to a robbery of a civil‑registry strong‑room.

In Argentina, a series of police actions recovered stolen motorcycles and arrested thieves: officers in Corrientes stopped a rider known as “Cocido” with three iPhones, while police in Laguna Yema seized two motorcycles, goat meat and other evidence in an abigeato case. Rural units retrieved a stolen bull in General San Martín, captured a stolen horse in Salavina, and recovered two stolen horses in another operation. Additional arrests involved a teenager who tried to steal a bicycle with a fake pistol in Lanús, and a group that stole a motorbike in Colón before being intercepted.

Other incidents included the seizure of a 42‑inch television being transported by two men on a motorbike in Neuquén, and the capture of a truck driver in La Cruz for falsifying a livestock transport guide. These coordinated police efforts across multiple provinces highlight ongoing law‑enforcement focus on vehicle, livestock and property theft.
