In the Arica and Parinacota region, Carabineros reported 13 traffic accidents with eight injuries, issued 550 infractions and detained 14 people, many for drunken or drug‑impaired driving.

The Coquimbo Prefecture carried out 1,361 vehicle and identity checks, logged 229 traffic violations and arrested 19 individuals for offenses ranging from intoxication to illegal weapons possession.

At the Colchane border crossing, immigration detectives detained 25 persons, including 20 with active arrest warrants and four subject to expulsion orders, most of them Bolivian nationals.

In Tarapacá (Iquique and Alto Hospicio), the Tolerancia Cero programme performed 278 alcohol and drug tests, resulting in 11 drivers being taken off the road.

These actions are part of intensified police operations during the recent long weekend aimed at improving road safety and enforcing migration controls.
